Greetings Friendship Baptist Church,

First of all, I want to express my deep appreciation to you for you during this very challenging time in the life of our Nation and World. It is encouraging and uplifting to see so many of you living out your faith in real-time!  Secondly, allow me to say THANK-YOU FBC for your acts of love and kindness expressed and displayed during my period of illness.  Your thoughts and prayers has helped sustain my family and me.

As a result of the Coronavirus, we as a church are experiencing issueswe would never have anticipated only a few short weeks ago. As you know, many businesses have either closed or have cut hours drastically to limit contact between employees and customers.  While this whole thing “goes against the grain” of what we as a church are all about, we believe it is time to be good neighbors in our community.  We at FBC believe that “The Church is our Community and the Community is our Church”. Here is an important reminder: The CHURCH is the PEOPLE! The Building is a Building where the Church usually meets! For now, we must do things a bit differently.

With this in mind, we are going to take the following course of action:

1.  All services on site and functions will be cancelled until further notice. We will then evaluate the situation at that time to determine future plans.

2. We will do our best to Livestream services even if it consists of a message by me. You may visit our website at, Facebook page (Friendship Baptist Church of Hopkins, SC) or my personal page (Charles DaShaun Cureton) to view the live broadcasts at 10:00am each Sunday starting on April 26, 2020. (The Sunday after my Doctor visit where prayerfully he releases me with a clean bill of health). Please be sure to say “hello” in the comments area and share, share, share!!! People are thirsty for God’s Word during this time. Those without internet, online or social media access, we will work on in the near future on preparing CD’s and DVD’s.

3. We are going to be doing our best to explore ways we as a church can be a blessing in ministry to our community during this time. Wedon't just want to “hide out” but find safe and effective avenues to help and minister to others. If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to let us know.

4. Give as you are able and be obedient to God at this time.  We all need to continue to be good stewards of what God has given us; since our land, insurance, utilities, salaries, mission, outreach and etc will still need funding, I encourage you all to please continue to give your tithes and offering. Giving options will be available on our website, via Cash App ($FriendshipBCHopkins), there will be scheduled times to drop off or pick up pre-addressed envelopes at the church and of course, you may easily send your tithes and offerings through “USPS mail”.  Our church address is as follows:

Friendship Baptist Church

2604 Lower Richland Boulevard

Hopkins, SC  29061

We are going to come THROUGH this and will have greater VICTORYon the other side...after this! It's time to pray, listen, and seek God for answers yet; we must use wisdom and again, BE THE CHURCH!!!

We love and appreciate you...In His Service,

Pastor Charles D. Cureton & Leadership
